Fix what’s holding your site back in Google

Technical SEO services for Dallas home service businesses. We find the pages Google can’t crawl, won’t index or can’t tell apart, fix them in order of what costs you the most calls, and show you what changed.

The problem

Good pages can’t rank if Google can’t read them.

You paid for a decent website. It has a page for water heater repair, one for drain cleaning and one for every suburb from Mesquite to Coppell. Most of them get almost no clicks. Usually the writing isn’t the problem. Something underneath it is.

Technical SEO is the wiring behind the drywall. It decides whether Google can reach a page (crawling), whether Google keeps it on file (indexing), which version it shows when two pages look alike, and how fast the page loads on a phone in someone’s driveway. When any of that breaks, nothing warns you. The site still looks fine in your browser.

Here’s what we keep finding on contractor sites: a redesign that left old URLs returning errors and threw away years of links. A “noindex” tag a developer forgot to remove after launch. Twenty city pages that say the same thing, so Google ranks none of them. A 4 MB hero photo that stalls the page on mobile data. Each one quietly caps how many calls your site can produce.

What we do

What our technical SEO services cover.

  • A full crawl. We crawl your site the way Googlebot does and list every broken link, redirect chain, blocked page and orphan page that nothing links to.
  • Indexing cleanup. We go through the Page Indexing report in Google Search Console, find out why pages are excluded, and fix the cause: stray noindex tags, wrong canonical tags, robots.txt blocks, missing sitemap entries.
  • Cannibalization fixes. When two or more of your pages chase the same search, we merge, redirect or rewrite them so each page has one clear job.
  • Schema markup. Structured data that spells out your trade, service area and phone number in a format Google reads directly. Here’s how local business schema works.
  • Core Web Vitals. Load time, tap response and layout shift measured on real phones. We fix the worst offenders or hand them to our site speed optimization team.
  • Redirects and migrations. Every old URL mapped to its new home, so a redesign doesn’t wipe out rankings you already earned.
  • Site structure and internal links. Your money pages linked from the menu and from each other, so Google can tell which page matters most.
  • Mobile and security basics. HTTPS everywhere, no mixed content, readable text and buttons a thumb can hit.

How the technical work runs.

  1. Crawl and set a baseline

We crawl the site, pull Search Console and analytics, and record where your calls and form fills come from today, so later changes have something to measure against.

  2. Rank the fixes

Each issue gets sorted by how many money pages it touches. A noindex tag on your AC repair page comes before a missing image description.

  3. Fix and confirm

We make the changes on your site, or write exact tickets for your developer, then request a recrawl and check that Google actually indexes the pages.

  4. Watch for drift

Plugins update, staff add pages, someone uploads a giant photo. We re-crawl every month and catch new problems before they cost you rankings.

Technical SEO in Dallas

Why contractor sites break in the same places.

Home service websites aren’t complicated, but they share a few habits that trip Google up. These are the ones we check first.

Too many look-alike city pages

DFW contractors cover a lot of ground, so someone eventually builds a page for Plano, Frisco, Allen, McKinney and thirty more, each with the city name swapped in. Google sees near-duplicates, struggles to pick one, and can rank the whole set lower. Digital Ducats saw this with a plumbing client: after the competing pages were consolidated, its average map ranking improved by roughly 70% in six days. (Read the case study.) City pages can work. They need real local detail and a reason to exist.

Redesigns without a redirect plan

New site, new URL structure, no redirects. Every old page that ranked or earned a link now returns an error, and the rankings go with it. We map old URLs to new ones before launch, or rebuild the map afterward if the damage is already done.

Slow pages on real phones

Google’s Core Web Vitals set clear “good” marks: the main content loads within 2.5 seconds, the page responds to a tap within 200 milliseconds, and the layout barely shifts while it loads. A homeowner with water on the laundry room floor in Richardson won’t wait for a slider to finish loading. They hit back and call the next result.

Audit first, then the fixes

Most technical work starts with our SEO audit, which gives you a ranked fix list whether or not you hire us. Technical SEO is the foundation of our SEO services. Content and links work better once Google can read every page cleanly.

What we won’t do

  • Send you a 90-page tool export full of red warnings and call it an audit.
  • Chase a perfect score on a speed test while your service pages stay unindexed.
  • Delete or redirect pages without checking which ones bring in calls.

Technical SEO questions

What does a technical SEO audit check?

A technical SEO audit checks whether Google can crawl, index and understand your site. That means broken links and redirects, pages excluded from Google’s index, duplicate or competing pages, schema markup, mobile usability, HTTPS and page speed. A useful audit ranks the problems by how much they cost you, not by how many a tool can count.

How long until technical fixes show up in rankings?

Some fixes show up fast. Once Google recrawls a page that was blocked or stuck out of the index, it can start ranking within days or weeks. Speed and structure changes usually take longer to show their full effect. Busy pages get recrawled sooner than pages deep in your site.

My site is on WordPress. Do I still need technical SEO?

Yes. WordPress handles the basics, but plugins, page builders and themes add their own problems: duplicate tag and archive pages, heavy scripts, conflicting SEO plugins and leftover staging settings. We see these on many WordPress contractor sites, and they’re usually quick to fix once someone looks.

How much do technical SEO services cost?

It depends on the size of your site, how many problems the crawl turns up and whether we make the fixes or your developer does. A 30-page site with a few indexing issues is a different job from a 400-page site after a botched migration. Pricing comes after the audit on your discovery call.
